22 Mar Feel Fantastic AND be Prolific
Making it easy: look easy, feel fantastic. How does Massage help this happen? What’s the correlation, you might ask.
Excellent health is something that permeates the entire person. When you have a fine running heart and cardiovascular system, you can exercise with ease. When your body is relaxed, your mind is at ease; it follows suit. When your mind is at ease, your body will follow suit. You can approach bringing your body & mind into balance and effectiveness from either end. But, the results of the balance of both body & mind being at ease are solid. This is where “Flow” happens.
“Flow” is where your mind is alert, sharp, but unaffected by external factors or stressors. “Flow” is where your mind & body communicate with each other in seamless, quick – fire fashion. Athletes call this “The Zone”. Phil Jackson, Michael Jordon, and The Chicago Bulls had this down to an art form during the years they dominated the NBA.
A regular Massage regimen, whether it’s 30 minutes, once a week, or 60 minutes every 2-4 weeks, teaches your body & mind what this balance, free flowing energy in your body’s systems, feels like. It reminds your brain, and your body, where to go, what neurological pathways, are “Normal” for you. The more frequently you put your mind & body into this state, the more all of your systems will gravitate toward it. The “Flow”.
Chinese medicine is based on the “Flow” of QI, Energy in our body & mind. The core of the practice of Massage is also based on similar principles. There over 200 different modalities within the practice of Massage. Some will bring results in different areas. Traditional massage, based on Swedish origin, is focused on this balance, the relaxation of the body & mind.
Our 5 Keys for Getting Your “Flow” on:
1. Hydrate. Drink your water, all day long, there are charts for body weight to know exactly how much you need. Here is a great post specifically on Water Intake: https://www.healthambition.com/how-much-water-do-you-need-daily/
2. Eat Well, healthy food choices. Here are some simple recipes to get you started
3. Exercise. Walking is the easiest to work into a busy schedule. Stretch. Many times during the day
4. Breathe deeply. Often.
5. Take 5 to Quiet the Mind. Try meditation for beginners. Take several 5 minute time outs a day to Reset. Once you have a regular meditation practice, it becomes very easy to Reset quickly throughout the day. Most Health practitioners have a meditation practice for the very first 15 minutes of the day. In fact, it can be done right in your bed, before you start the day.
As you incorporate more healthy habits into your life, to provide care for your mind & body, you will notice the ease of ideas, productivity, creativity, physical performance, becoming the “Norm” for you.
